Bonang Matheba to help choose Miss SA
Entertainment sweetheart Bonang Matheba has joined the line-up of judges for Miss South Africa 2014. The woman from Mahikeng, known as Girl B or Queen B to her hordes of fans, is the face of a cosmetics brand and an underwear range and is also a Top Billing presenter. Others charged with choosing the fairest young woman in the land are magazine editor and poet Kojo Baffoe and Miss SA 1992 Amy Kleinhans-Curd. The three join TV and radio personality Anele Mdoda and magazine editor Pnina Fenster, who shortlisted the beauties in the reality TV-style talent search. Another judge, DJ Black Coffee, resigned from the panel after he found that one of the finalists was related to his wife. In a statement, the beauty pageant organisers announced that the panel of five would judge the Top 12 contestants on intelligence, leadership, talent, physical fitness and a dedication to community service. The Top 12 Miss SA finalists are Anzél Stofberg, Jade Hubner and Mishka Patel from Western Cape; Caylene Marais, Tidimalo Sehlako and Tshegofatso Monggae from Gauteng; Dipalesa Mbola and Rolene Strauss from Free State; Julia Petersen from KwaZulu-Natal; Matlala Mokoko from Limpopo; Abigail de Jager from Mpumalanga and Ziphozakhe Zokufa from Eastern Cape. The Miss South Africa finals will take place at the Sun City Superbowl on Sunday March 30.
